New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources New Hampshire's "State Historic Preservation Office" was established in 1974 as the Division of Historical Resources. The historical, archaeological, architectural and cultural resources of New Hampshire are among its most important environmental assets. Historic preservation promotes the use, understanding and conservation of such resources for the education, inspiration, pleasure and enrichment of New Hampshire's citizens.

New Hampshire Main Street Center The NH Main Street Center is dedicated specifically to maintaining, strengthening and revitalizing the physical, economic and cultural characteristics of the state's traditional and historic downtown urban and village centers by supporting and working with community Main Street Programs.

New Hampshire Preservation Alliance The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance is the statewide, nonprofit historic preservation organization.   Founded in 1985, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance is a group of people dedicated to preserving the parts of New Hampshire that make it so wonderful to live here.

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation ACHP is an independent Federal agency that provides a forum for influencing Federal activities, programs, and policies as they affect historic resources.

The National Register of Historic Places The National Register of Historic Places is the Nation's official list of cultural resources worthy of preservation. Authorized under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Register is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect our historic and archeological resources. Properties listed in the Register include districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects that are significant in American history, architecture, archeology, engineering, and culture. The National Register is administered by the National Park Service, which is part of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
